About Us

WHO WE ARE

A Church That Feels Like Family

We are a Spirit-filled church that believes the Word of God is alive and powerful. In every service, we gather with expectation for God to move, and lives to be touched.

Founded in 1993, Yuma’s Pentecostal Assembly has been a home for families, a refuge for the weary, and a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached without compromise.

We love God, we love people, and we believe the best is still ahead for YPA.

MEET THE PASTOR

Josiah Wilson

He was raised on the road — the son of an evangelist father who carried the Gospel from California to the mission fields of Guadalajara, Mexico, and planted churches across Arizona and Texas. Ministry was never a career choice for Pastor Wilson. It was a calling he grew up watching lived out in real time.

Before answering that call fully, he built a successful career in sales and leadership with Fortune 50 companies, developing the discipline and diligence that still mark his ministry today. In 2018, guided by his pastor and elder, he stepped away from corporate life, sold everything, and began preaching by faith — evangelizing and serving churches across the country before the Lord directed him and his family to Yuma in May 2020.

For 16 years prior, Pastor Wilson served faithfully at Truth Tabernacle in Fresno under Elder Vaughn Morton and Pastor Timothy Lackey — leading the youth ministry for a decade, teaching New Disciples courses, directing missions, and helping organize the annual West Coast Conference. He also led the Sunday School department at Belmont Tabernacle for nearly ten years.

Today, Pastor Wilson leads YPA with a shepherd’s heart and a preacher’s fire. He is joined in ministry by his wife of 20 years, Kari, and their four children — Chloe, Aubrey, Jack, and Summer — all of whom are active in the life of the church.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

— Hebrews 10:25, KJV
